Different types of PTE tests

The Pearson Test of English (PTE) offers various test formats to meet different purposes, including study, migration, and work. The main types are:

PTE Academic UKVI

A Secure English Language Test (SELT) approved by the UK Home Office for UK visas and immigration.

PTE Core

Accepted by the Canadian government for permanent residency and other immigration pathways; focuses on real-life English skills required in daily and workplace situations.

PTE Academic Exam Format

Candidates will have to go to a Pearson test center. They will have to use a computer and read, listen to using a headset, and answer questions. The three main parts of the two-hour test are speaking and writing, reading, and listening.
